I hope this message finds you well. I am delighted to share some exciting updates from the Geelong Chamber of Commerce that underscore our commitment to supporting our members and fostering growth in the business community.
On Thursday 29th KPMG hosted a group of Chamber members and partners for an interactive session of listening and gathering information on how businesses can grow. It was a high-energy event and we have come away with feedback that informs our next steps in supporting the growth of our region. We are an action-oriented Chamber and the we generated extensive insights with key themes including; understanding business factors, building financial acumen, embracing innovation and technology, accessing experts and advisory teams, and diving deeper into knowing target markets. We plan to host more of these sessions for extended member groups and segmented industries.
Equal Pay Matters – Pay Equality Toolkit Launch
Just this week we supported the launch of Equal Pay Matters – Pay Equality Toolkit for SMEs. In collaboration with the Victorian Equal Opportunity & Human Rights Commission and the State Government of Victoria, we were proud to unveil this invaluable resource aimed at promoting pay equality in workplaces. Hosted by the wonderful team at Truffleduck for this momentous occasion, we were joined by esteemed speakers including Ro Allen (FAICD), Victorian Equal Opportunity & Human Rights Commissioner, Ruth Holdaway MBE, CEO of Geelong Mums, and Mark Neeld, CEO of Geelong United who shared their perspective and thoughts on pay equality.

As we continue our journey towards a modern chamber designed for the future, our latest property acquisition provides a unique opportunity for the Chamber and our members. We are at the very beginning of our design and planning putting our member experience front and centre of every conversation we have on the future use of this asset. Having a committed home and presence in the heart of Geelong coupled with access for members to utilise services and future benefits the property will deliver enhanced opportunities for our business community moving forward.
