Greater Geelong’s vibrant small business community will once again take centre stage when the Geelong Small Business Festival returns from Monday 4 August to Friday 15 August 2025.
Delivered in partnership with the Geelong Chamber of Commerce, the festival is a flagship event celebrating local enterprise, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and now is the time for aspiring hosts to get involved.
Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to host an event open on Monday 5 May, providing businesses, industry leaders and organisations with the opportunity to contribute to the dynamic festival program.
Greater Geelong Mayor Stretch Kontelj OAM said supporting the success of local businesses was imperative to the region’s long-term prosperity.
“Small businesses are at the heart of our economy and our community,” Mayor Kontelj said.
“They are vital to achieving our vision for a clever and creative future for the Greater Geelong region, and Council is committed to helping local businesses not only get started but to grow and thrive as well.”
Geelong Chamber chief executive Jeremy Crawford said the Geelong Small Business Festival was a fantastic way for established and emerging business owners to connect, learn and be inspired.
“Greater Geelong is home to more than 22,200 small businesses, making up approximately 97 per cent of all businesses in the region,” Mr Crawford said.
“Collectively, these enterprises are estimated to generate around $10 billion in annual revenue, demonstrating the crucial role small business plays in driving our regional economy.
“The festival is a wonderful way to help these businesses network and grow, while showcasing their own work to a broader market.”
The festival will feature a wide range of events, workshops, and networking opportunities designed to support and empower local business owners, entrepreneurs and professionals.
