Co-creation Discovery Workshop

18 March @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

Are you passionate about disability inclusion? Do you have lived experience or work in an industry that advocates for accessibility and inclusion? This interactive workshop will co-design pathways to meaningful employment.

We are excited to invite you to the next Co-Creation Discovery Workshop for The Gordon’s Centre of Excellence in Disability Inclusion. We are looking for individuals with lived experience and industry organisations that are passionate advocates for disability inclusion. In the session we will work with industry representatives to identify pathways to employment and what tools, resources, and supports can be established for industry.

Our focus for 2025 is to co-create an Operating Model and Implementation Plan with individuals with disabilities, key stakeholders and advocates. Together, we’ll explore the tools, resources, and support needed to create a more inclusive workforce.

Date: Tuesday 18 March
Time: 1pm-3pm
Venue: Online via Zoom (Zoom link will be sent to registered attendees prior to the session)
Cost: Free

What is the Centre of Excellence in Disability Inclusion?

The Gordon’s Centre of Excellence in Disability Inclusion is a Network Centre of Excellence that unites students, the TAFE network, place-based communities, industry partners, and government bodies to lead inclusive education through innovation, policy advancement, knowledge sharing and capability building, ensuring TAFE is accessible and enriching for all.

The Centre exemplifies our commitment to addressing systemic barriers faced by Victorians with disability in education and employment. Supported by a $36 million investment from the Victorian Government, this initiative is more than just a building—it is a vision for the future of vocational education for all Victorian TAFEs.

It’s about paving a new future and creating an inclusive and equitable learning environment that meets the diverse needs of our students and supports their success.

When will it open?

While the Centre of Excellence in Disability Inclusion itself will officially open in 2027, the groundwork laid in 2024 demonstrates significant progress toward its vision. The centre will transform The Gordon and serve as a hub for the TAFE network across Victoria, fostering collaboration, innovation and shared knowledge.

Our co-creation approach ensures that people with lived experience guide the decisions we make. It is an inclusive, collaborative process where a diverse range of people with relevant lived experience, skills and interests come together to provide advice and make decisions on projects, policies and initiatives.
