Dear Chamber Members,
We stand united in our commitment to champion a region where business is not just a means to an end, but a powerful force for good. One crucial ingredient that compliments a thriving and rich business ecosystem is diversity, of all types, which we are continuing to build within our growing membership.
Such examples include our recent discussions with the ICAI – The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and how this organisation of over 400,000 members globally can leverage their reach, education offerings, and global business mentoring to assist businesses here locally.
We recently met with the Philippine Consulate General in Melbourne alongside the Australia Philippines Business Council, linking their support of Philippine-owned businesses in the region and potential involvement with Pako Festa, one of Geelong’s treasured community events.
In October the Geelong Chamber lead discussions on increasing investment into our region. We hosted Francis Wong, Chair of ASEAN Australia alongside several Geelong industry thought leaders and local organisations to consider how we can unite on investment attraction and increasing international awareness of our business and economic opportunities to build relationship that will benefit our region’s future.
We are dedicated to building an increasingly diverse membership that reflects the rich tapestry of our region. This diversity is our strength. It fuels innovation, inspires collaboration, and enhances our ability to respond to the needs of our community. We welcome businesses of all types, shapes, and sizes, recognising that every voice adds value to our shared vision.
In our pursuit of a vibrant and inclusive business ecosystem, we are committed to engaging with various industries and fostering a culture where differing political, social, and community views are respected and embraced. By harnessing this diversity, we can tackle challenges head-on and unlock new opportunities for growth.
Together, we are creating an environment that drives initiatives that not only boost economic development but also contribute to the well-being of our community and the environment.
Our members are leading by example, demonstrating that profitability and purpose are intrinsically linked.
As we move forward, let us continue to support one another, leverage our diverse strengths, and champion a region that is recognised globally as a great place to do business.
Warm regards,
Jeremy Crawford
