The Barwon South West WRRG commenced operations on 1 August 2014 through amendments to the Environment Protection Act 1970. The Group has a clear statutory role to plan for all waste streams and to undertake regional waste and resource recovery planning that aligns with statewide waste and resource recovery planning. Covering nine councils in the Barwon South West with a governing board.
