Plenary Group is an independent investor, developer and manager of infrastructure and real assets, specialising in public-private partnerships, precinct developments and community infrastructure. Founded in Melbourne in 2004, it has expanded to become one of the leading financiers, developers and managers in its markets. It has assets under management worth more than $10 billion in Victoria, part of a global portfolio worth more than $78 billion across Australia, the Middle East, the UK and North America.
Plenary leads the Plenary Conventions consortium delivering the $449 million Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre project; contracted to finance, design, construct and maintain Nyaal Banyul for 25 years in partnership with the Victorian Government and its funding partners under the Geelong City Deal, the Australian Government and the City of Greater Geelong. Plenary is also investing more than $250 million in the precinct to deliver Geelong largest hotel – the 200-room Crowne Plaza Geelong – and associated retail, commercial and mixed-use spaces.
Plenary also leads the Plenary Environment consortium that delivered and now manages for 20 years the $77 million Biosolids Management project – the largest biosolids drying plant in the southern hemisphere – in partnership with Barwon Water. The Connewarre facility sustainably treats 60,000 tonnes of biosolids each year, turning a waste by-product into a high-grade fertiliser for Victoria’s agriculture industry.
