Thank you Geelong Chamber Members
Friday, August 26, 2011
It was a privilege to be able to stand in front of so many business people at The Black Sheep Café on the 13th July and personally thank those who already have a partnership with Give Where You Live. The challenge was given to others to consider supporting the local community by establishing a partnership with us.
Again, thank you to those who have since made that commitment.
As local businesses, I’m sure you have numerous ‘asks’ for support. And it can be confusing trying to decide how to best help the community in which you do business. Your one partnership with Give Where You Live will provide vital support to those in most need in our community – our vulnerable elderly, children, families, at-risk youth, the homeless and those living with a serious illness or disability.
What can a partnership with Give Where You Live look like?
- Workplace Giving– a chance for employees to make a small regular contribution through payroll deduction (currently 250 Geelong businesses are involved, raising $850,000 in 2011)
- Event Sponsorship / participation – our Race Day at Geelong Racing Club is coming up this week on Friday 26th August and there are 3 sponsorship packages still available (why not have one of the horses races named after your business and featured in the Event Program, Form Guide and telecast on Sky TV??). Or just book some seats for staff and/or clients for a great afternoon hosted by Rob Gaylard. For full information on this or any GWYL events, please contact Events Coordinator, Alice Fraser at alice@givewhereyoulive.com.au
- Other events coming up include Alcoa Corporate Head of the River, TAC Dragon Boat Regatta, E&S Trading Golf Classic at The Sands and Ford Otway Cycling Classic.
- Tax Deductible Corporate Donations – many businesses support the annual campaign through a one-off contribution, a monthly direct debit or a donation which matches their staff Workplace Giving
- Employee Volunteering Opportunities and ‘Seeing is Believing’ visits to Community Partners – get up close and personal with some of the great programs and individuals supporting people in their times of need.
Please consider this opportunity to be part of a business community which is making a genuine, positive impact in this region and proudly display Give Where You Live signage demonstrating your commitment.
I would be very pleased to hear from you to discuss a partnership
