Get Exposed To BusinessThe third annual Geelong Business Expo, which is jointly sponsored again by the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Greater Geelong, will be staged next month at the Kardinia Heights Centre in Hamlyn Heights.
The Business Expo, which runs over two full days and one evening - 20 and 21 April - will feature sixty-five local business and government exhibitors which will provide delegates with first hand information and practical advice on new products and services available locally in Geelong.
Delegates can also find out what assistance is available from governments and the private sector and the Expo will provide the opportunity for them to build new business networks.
A unique feature of the Geelong Business Expos is the availability of more than forty free business briefing sessions to delegates, over the two days and evening, on a wide range of current and relevant topics that will assist small to medium business enterprises to grow their business.
The first briefing is on regional opportunities for business and will be delivered by Prof Rob Wallis, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Deakin University, Derrick Herbert, Industry Capability Network, and Rob McHenry, G21 Regional Alliance. Other session topics over the two days include marketing, industrial relations, finance and funding opportunities, ethics, starting a small business, insurance, tendering, risk assessment, customer satisfaction, staff training, tourism marketing and sessions on retailing.
The Geelong Business Expo will be the venue for a luncheon on the second day by the Geelong Manufacturing Council on "Materials efficiency and product improvement" while Geelong Central City Management will hold a breakfast that morning featuring Debra Templar of Australian Retail Services.
The launch of the Chamber's Geelong region Business Connections project will take place at a breakfast on the first day.
This year’s Expo major sponsors are the Victorian Government (through the Minister for Small Business), Bendigo Bank, K-Rock/Bay FM Radio, Geelong Advertiser, and Country Biz Magazine. Gold sponsors are Telstra Country Wide, Think 2 Design, and Barter Card Geelong. The four local sponsors are Best Signs, Xerox Business Centre, GHD Geelong, and Geelong Area Consultative Committee.
Entry to the Geelong Business Expo will only be available to businesses or organisations and will be free of charge. An admission fee will be charged for the business breakfasts and luncheon.
The Business Expo will be a valuable tool for exhibitors to build their market and customer base, launch new products and services, drive direct sales, attract media interest and network with other exhibitors.
Businesses and delegates can find more information about the Business Expo on the website at www.geelongbusinessexpo.com.au or on the hotline at 1300 553 235.
