* The Regional Council supports more than 40 community based, not for profit organisations in the Barwon South Western Region of Victoria to provide educational opportunities for adults, especially those who have lacked access to education in the past. * The Regional Council is currently expending $1.21m in Geelong and a further $70,000 in Surfcoast. * In 1997 over 7,200 Geelong and Surfcoast residents undertook adult education courses supported by the Regional Council.
